Dunedin Venues Management Ltd (DVML) is home to the most sophisticated and versatile event facilities in southern New Zealand.  Its portfolio includes the world class Forsyth Barr Stadium, the majestic Dunedin Centre which is a multi-purpose entertainment, conference and events hub, and turf management of the University of Otago Oval where local and international cricket matches are held.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our dynamic team as a Venue Support Services Person.

THE ROLE:

With a stellar and intensifying line-up of entertainment and corporate events across the DVML managed venues this is a role which will see the successful applicant fully immersed in a truly innovative and dynamic workplace.  Reporting to the Venue Support Services Team Leader, you will be part of a team that is responsible for delivering exceptional service and support for events and facilities - including routine maintenance, repairs, venue set-up, flips and resets.

Alongside this the Venue Support Services Person is responsible for:

  • Providing excellent customer service to a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Carrying out assigned routine maintenance tasks to ensure buildings, grounds and equipment are well maintained.
  • Ownership of room set-up and flip requirements for all assigned events across DVML's multiple venues.

ABOUT YOU: 

This permanent full time role is hands on, fast paced and physically demanding. You will need to be confident in your ability to work calmly under pressure and balance multiple priorities, have strong attention to detail and proficient with the use of hand tools and small power tools.  You will need to have flexibility in your work hours to fit with the events management industry.  Some days you might be rostered on 8am-5pm but there are lots of other times you’ll need to be available to work on weekend days, start earlier and work well into the evening to meet event and client requirements.   

Along with this you’ll:

  • Have a really strong work ethic and  be able to follow direction - you're someone who will own and efficiently deliver tasks assigned to you 
  • Have awesome planning and organisation skills and be solution focused in your approach  
  • Be an open and effective communicator who easily and naturally builds positive relationships with others
  • Hold a full New Zealand driver’s license (this is essential)
