We have an awesome opportunity for someone to join our dynamic team in the role of  Groundsperson based at the University of Otago Oval.

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

If you love working outdoors and have turf experience, this job could be for you!

We are looking for a Groundsperson to work alongside our turf teams to help with the maintenance of Dunedin Venues managed sports fields.  These include the preparation of grounds for international and domestic cricket at the Otago University Oval and international and domestic rugby at the Forsyth Barr Stadium.

This is a full time permanent position based in a team who are passionate about making sure that the different sporting facilities are maintained and presented to a really high standard.   For the team to deliver exceptional turf conditions on two international grounds, despite what the weather throws at them, they need to work flexibly in terms of day of the week and hours of work.  You would be working at least 40 hours every week but the days (including weekends) and hours will vary.

ABOUT YOU: 

We want to hear from you if you if you are someone who loves the idea of working in a physical outdoor job,  is a team player, has a positive attitude and a real willingness to learn.  You'll also need:

  • At least 1-2 years turf experience
  • A National Certificate in Sports Turf Management (Level 3)
  • To be motivated by providing exceptional service for internal and external customers
  • A full NZ driver's license and be confident and capable of driving a manual vehicle
  • Some understanding of Health & Safety practices would be ideal, but can be taught if needed
